Tacoma, Washington is an underdog that has made a name for itself thanks to its exquisite glass art, which is highly sought after by collectors across the world. Here are some places worth visiting in Tacoma.

    Wright Park

If you and your loved ones are seeking for a peaceful area to spend the day in the city, go no further than Wright Park. In the warmer months, kids may cool down in the fountains that dot the park and enjoy the playgrounds and “spraygrounds” that have become its signature feature. If you’re looking to get some fresh air and some exercise, this 27-acre park with its network of walking trails is an excellent choice.

The Bridge of Glass and Glass Art

Tacoma is most famous for its glass art, and if you are not already a fan of glass art, a trip to the Museum of Glass will change your mind. Born in this city, glass artist Dale Chihuly has become internationally renowned for his breathtaking blown-glass creations. In addition to Seattle’s Chihuly Gardens, a trip to Tacoma should include a stop at the Tacoma Museum of Glass.

    Automobiles and works of art

The Tacoma Art Museum is the only museum in the area that focuses on Western U.S. painters, so if you’re a fan of art, you should definitely check it out. There are almost 3,500 works of art on display, including regional works as well as those from Japan and Europe, as well as unique temporary displays. Not to mention, there are glass sculptures by Chihuly on display.

    Marymount’s LeMay Collection

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the LeMay Americas Car Museum Tacoma is the biggest privately owned automotive collection in the world. This is the place to go if you’re a fan of classic automobiles, and you can find everything from cars and trucks to fire trucks and motorcycles here in their original glory. You can take a self-guided tour of the collection, or you can hire a docent to lead you through the exhibits and answer any questions you may have.
